Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Certification Training

LPI has developed two vendor neutral Linux certifications for experienced system and network administrators at the intermediate and advanced levels, LPI Level 1 and LPI Level 2.
LPI Level 1 Certified Professionals will be able to:
- Work at the UNIX command line, and perform routine maintenance tasks such as helping users, adding users to a larger system
- Perform backups and restores and perform shutdowns & reboots
- They should be able to install and configure a workstation and connect it to the LAN, or connect a stand-alone PC via modem to the Internet
To
gain the LPI Level 1 you need to pass two exams. The letters listed on the right hand
side of the exam description refer to the HOTT courses relevant
for that exam.

LPI Level 2 Certified Professionals will be able to:
- Administer a small to medium-sized site
- Plan, implement, maintain and troubleshoot a small network
- Advise management regarding issues such as automation and purchases

for that exam.
